Since it’s so easy to lose track of time when on sabbatical and the baby is wearing us out, we came up with a daily schedule. With slight variations, it looks like this:
8:00 a.m. – wake up
8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. breakfast
8:45 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. daddy is playing with the baby, mommy is cleaning or planning the menu, curriculum, and activities, son is studying (algebra/ science), grandma-grandpa are resting
9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. – mommy is playing with the baby, daddy is responding to e-mails, son is studying (English/ humanities), grandparents are still playing on iPads
10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – big brother is playing with his little brother, parents are working on their laptops, grandparents are still chilling
11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. – mommy is cooking lunch, grandparents are playing with the baby, daddy is working and son is running around
noon – lunch & clean up
1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. baby is napping, everyone is relaxing
1:45 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. son is studying (computer programming or watching educational videos), grandparents are relaxing, parents are reading or sleeping
3 p.m. – 5 p.m. – mommy is playing with baby, daddy is going to the gym and/ or working, grandparents are walking around, son is relaxing
5 p.m. – mommy or grandparents are making dinner, daddy and brother are playing with the baby
